The cacatua alba is a bird species that can be seen in the Casela Bird Park in Black River, Mauritius. The cacatua alba is also known as the white cockatoo. The population of the white cockatoo is decreasing and is considered as vulnerable. The white cockatoo forms part of the psittacidae family. Usually their size is around 46cm. It has a weight of 800 grams for males and around 400 for females. Umbrella cockatoo is also another name given to the cacatua alba. This bird is endemic from Ternate, Bacan, North Maluku, Tidore, Hamahera and Indonesia islands. The white cockatoo can live up to eighty years. The umbrella cockatoo can imitate the basic human speech, but is not ideal as pet. A lot of people like them as pets because of their beauty.
