The Marital Status Act specifies for a non resident couple to be married in Mauritius:


Need to obtain a certificate from the Office of prime Minister to the civil status office to state that the couple is non resident.

 

This document can be obtained at the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages Emmanuel Anquetil, 6th Floor at Port Louis.

You can get it beforehand by sending a request accompanied with 2 copies of birth certificate from both spouse and a copy of their passport (first 3 pages), if divorced or widow, you will need a document stating it.

 

At least 10 days before the wedding date, a request for a non resident certificate must be at the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. The wedding can then take place at the chosen place.

 
When all papers are ready and has been accepted then you have your wedding celebrated and spend your honey moon on the island.
