In the past, it was not easy for a lot of students after secondary schools even with good results to enter the university because of the cost.
Nowadays there is more and more students going to private universities as long as their parents can afford it of course.
The University of Technology known as UTM was able opened its door in 2000 allowed by the Government of Mauritius.
The University is located at La Tour Koening, Pointe aux Sables.
The president of the University of Technology is Fakhru Currimjee.
The start phase was consisted to merge in MIPAM and SITRAC Ltd.
