A temple at Grand Bassin in Mauritius Island has been constructed in honour of the Lord Shiva. In Sanskrit it is called siva which mean auspicious one. Shiva is considered as one of the main deities in Hinduism. Here above you can see a picture of Shiva which has been taken at Grand Bassin. Shiva in Sanskrit also means gracious, friendly and kind. On the picture you can see Shiva has as ornament a snake and often he is also seen sitting on a tiger skin as above. Shiva also often smears his whole body with ashes called in Hinduism bhasma. Maha Shivaratri is celebrated every year in honour of Lord Shiva; it is celebrated in Mauritius as well as in India. The deities has in Hinduism different names and it is the same for the Lord Shiva who also had different incarnations and names along the Hinduism stories.
