The spiny lobster is known as panulirus longipes in the scientific language. The spiny lobster can be found in the aquarium of Mauritius, it is also known as rock lobster. It makes part of a family of around 45 species. In some places the spiny lobster is also called crayfish or crawfish. The spiny lobster looks very likely as the true lobsters in its shape and hard carapace, but they are really relatives. Spiny lobster is in Bahamas one of the biggest food export. The spiny lobsters should not be confused the true lobsters, the clawed lobsters, the spiny lobsters has no claws and are not close relatives even they almost look the same. The closest relatives of the spiny lobster are the slipper lobster which is also not true lobsters. The spiny lobster likes to live in caves and crevices. Their life span is about 25 to 50 years. The spiny lobster is Mauritius known as “langouste”.
