This is a picture of Banque des Mascareignes located in Curepipe. Banque Internationale des Mascareignes was allowed in January 1991 by the Bank of Mauritius to go on with offshore business in Mauritius Island. In 2004 the name was changed to Mascareignes International Bank Ltd. The Mascareignes International Bank Ltd fusion with Banque des Mascareignes in 2005 and all customers from Mascareignes International Bank are under Banque des Mascareignes. As there was lots of confusion between the two banks, the Mascareignes International Bank closed and gave back their banking licence in 2005 which renouncement was accepted by the Bank of Mauritius under the Banking Act 200 sec. 11.
