The company started in 1974; it started first as a join venture between Ireland Blyth and South African Eagle Insurance. In 1993 Mauritian Eagle was list in the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. The Mauritian Eagle Insurances offers services for commercial and domestic markets; the company also offers pension plans and life insurance. Since 2001, the company also provide its clients in leasing services through its subsidiary The Mauritian Eagle Leasing Co. Ltd.
